Çevlik and the Samandağ Coast: One of Türkiye's Longest Beaches

14 kilometres of uninterrupted sand, spectacular sunsets and endangered green sea turtles — the sea at our doorstep.

3 min 18.05.2026 Samandağ / Hatay

The Samandağ shore stretches about 14 kilometres of fine sand from Meydan to Çevlik — one of the longest natural beaches in Türkiye, a few minutes' walk from our hotel.

Home of the Green Sea Turtle

This is one of the Mediterranean's most important nesting grounds for the endangered green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas). From May to September turtles nest on the beach; please avoid lights on the sand at night and never touch marked nests.

Sunset Between Two Mountains

Musa Mountain rises at one end of the beach and Mount Kel (Jebel Aqra) at the other. Walking the shore at dusk, you watch the sun sink into the sea between their silhouettes — Samandağ's most photographed scene.

Truva Life tip: For wedding photos, the golden hour is about 45 minutes before sunset — our events team plans shoots around it.
